Description

Research interests:

Limnology and microbial ecology of reservoirs.

Primary production: 14C-bicarbonate incorporation, size-fractionation, extracellular production of organic carbon by phytoplankton.

Bacterial production and activity: radiolabelled substrate incorporation (thymidine, leucine)

Phosphorus cycling: radiolabelled orthophophate uptake and turnover, P-limitation assessment.

Extracellular enzymes: (especially phosphatases) activity, localization and quantification at single-cell level using the substrates MUF, ELF97.

Image analysis: applications in limnology - cell sizing, quantification of filamentous microorganisms, fluorescence quantification at single-cell level.
